“Mind your stance!” – In a world that appears to be unravelling, this advice is more topical than ever. Particularly in moments of disorientation, a firm position can mean rescue – but it can also mean danger.
The greater the tension, the greater the danger of at some stage losing control. Stance and fall, control and its loss, reason and madness, are all inter-related. With existential earnestness and fascinating playfulness, the artists focus on a contradiction in terms that represents the current Zeitgeist. The body torn back and forth, the pose and its dissolution become the medium of communication. The works focus in particular on the intermediate zones and border crossings.
